Hi, I’m Terry R. Bennett , I’m the creator of Homelesshighway .Org. Like you, I’m homeless, not Was but am. I understand the problems and hardships we all face. In 2011, I began to think of what could be done to aid or better our lifestyle. What we needed was a way to communicate with each other, our family & our friends, a place we could exchange information and find services that are aimed at what “we” need in a format that is easily accessible. The more I thought about it, the more I realized what we needed was our own website , not city wide or state wide but nation wide.
Once you become homeless its easy to lose touch with family and friends, your’e embarrassed about you situation, you move looking for jobs and weeks turn into months, suddenly you find yourself alone with on one to turn to. Maybe you borrowed money or you did or said thing you regret or you just feel a sense of shame about being homeless, now months have turned into years, your family and friends miss you, if only they could let you know how much they care.
Homelesshighway.org is the answer not just for connecting but for services. Now the homeless have one place they can search for medical needs, shelter, food, state, local and federal government services, anything and everything that pertains to the homeless not just in the city they are in but all across the country and the services are gathered from the homeless themselves. If the service works they will be the first to let you know, their input will fuel and make the website grow. At a time when unemployment is high and there are worries about the economy, the homeless population will continue to grow. Please, join me! Help me build a better world for those that suffer needlessly, and together we can fight homelessness!
